"KATINKA." In the Graud Opera House last night Messrs. J. C. Williamson's latest musical production, "Katinka," was agaia greeted by a larse and onthusinstic : audience. "Jfatinka" is a comic opera of distinct merit, with a breezy and tuneful music score, and a plot which is. above tin: average of that around which musical comedies are constructed, lu laci, it holds the attention of the audience from start to finish. The musical numbers never failed to please last night, anu the Bcenic cnects wcro al6o a matter for congratulation. Another feature of was the excellent dancing. Farewell seasons given by capable players presenting the best of their kinu of entertainment usually fail to attract the-atre-goers to the extent that wae anticipated, but that cannot be said of the farewell season that Mr. Jack Wallers talented company arc giving. A chanco of programme was made by the Jack Waller Revue Company at the Town Hall. Several new and spn-rkliug Items were introduced for the first time, along with eome of the successes of former programmes. Tho Ideal Trio, consisting of Messrs. Gregory Ivauofl .(yioliii), Wylio Watson i'oello), and Frederick Dennett (piano) aro always to be relied on for a delightful rendering of the more tuneful popular melodies, and the selection this week is a succession of sweet and catchy pieces, both old and new Ihe musicians for their single contribution wore enthusiastically applauded, and Mr. Ivanof! played the Mazurka "Zargicky with rare charm, and a concerto by Weber, played by Mr. Dennett, wae an acceptable number, temperamentally rendered. Jlie refined comedy work of Messrs. Waller, and Watson is something to look forward to with zest. Two comedy scenes worn staged, a new one, "The Mummy, being received with all tho applause that was due to it. Mr. Wylic Watson, as tho Mummy, created roars of laughter. lhe other members of the company sang .new songs, said new and amusing things, and danced, all in excellent taste. The last five nights of the season are announced.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. The new bill at His Majesty's Theatre is being very well received. It is racy pud diversified, and comprises just the kind ot vaudeville people like. Of a good selection of performers," Miss Jlaud Courteuay and "Mr. 0.," in their new song and story act, perhaps please best. Ward Lear (comedinn) and lUleigh and M Donald (comedy sketch artists) are «lso to the fore. QUEEN'S VHEATBE. Picture theatre patrons are reminded that to-day and this evening will be the last screenings at the Queens Theatre, Cuba Street, of "A Talc of Two Cities. Owing to previous booking it nas been found impossible to secure an extension of the season for Wellington. Intending patrons are adviaed to book their oeata early per telephone to the theatre. KING'S THEATRE. To-night will see the final screening at the King's Theatre cf the Triangle drama, "Sudden Jim," featuring Charles Kay and Sylvia Bremer. At, Ilio change to-mor-row Mrs. Vernon .Castle will be seen in a Tathe drama, "Sylvia of the Secret Service." The story has reference to Elliot Dexter, the hero, who has been robbed of a valuable diamond which he has been entrusted to deliver to the English Orowu. EMPRESS THEATRE. Carlyle Blaokwell and Muriel Ostriohe will bo soen at tho limprcss Theatre tor the last time to-night in ''Sally In Our Alley." Commencing tomorrow, the World drama, "The Oilded Cage," featuring Alice Brady, will be ehown as tli= scar attraction. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. Ea-rle Williams will be seen tor the labi timt to-iilght at Everybody's Theatre in tho Vitagraph detective drama, "ThoGrell Mystery." To-morrow, William Desmond will be' seen in" an original Triangle drama, "Flying Colours." Desmond will appear as Brent Brewstcr, 4 famous atf lcte, who turns detective, and during the screening of the picture the hero is tailed upon ;o do s-ome high-clues athletic efforts.
