DRIVERS' CONFERENCE
LINKS UP WITH TRANSPORT WORKEKS' ,BOAKD: Tho annual conference of the New Zealand .Drivers' Federation was commenced iii \\c Queen's Chambers yesterday morning. There were present. Messrs. ff. Davis and J. Co»'sill (Auckland), D. \V. Coleniaii (Gisborne), G. Brown (Napier), J. Koss (YVanguliiii), A. Parlano (Wellington), HHunter (Canterbury), W. Herbert. (Dunedin). Mr. G-. Davis was appointed chairman and Mr. TT, Parhuie secretary. Tho first business of importance was thn ronding of a letter from 51V. J. Glover, national serrrtnry of the "New Zealand Labour Party, asking thn-conference to.nass a rt'snliitioli proti'Slin.'j asji'inst the iniprisonmont of Mr. P. C._ AVebh. and for its support in conncctioi: with the deputation that was to wait,:>n the Minister of Justice, to-day. That course was followed, and all 1 delegates will attend tlie deputation to the Minister. The • conference also decided io affiliate with the Transport Workers' Advisory Board.
The. conference will resume this morning, and will sit on Saturday and probabiy on Monday next. v
