THE SINKING OF THE CONARGO
London, April 5. The owners of the Conargo state that tho crew got away in three boats. A collier picked up two boats and fortyfour jnen were rescued. Thero is 1.0 confirmation of the report that the Germans torpedoed or shelled tho boats. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Rec. April 7, 5.5 p.m.) London, April 6. It has been ascertained that the Conargo was either mined or torpedoed. Four boats were launched. One went away and three stood by the ship, hoping to salve her, when the torpedo struck tho bottom of the ship, sinking her, and wrecking ono boat, killing the occupants.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
