LIBERTY WAR LOAN.
Sir Joseph Ward, in his address at the Commercial Travellers' Club regarding the War Loan, urged the necessity of everyone assisting the National Government to provide the wherewithal to carry on. To allow; of the smallest contributors to assist as well as those of greater means, the travellers have formulated a scheme whereby every child in the Dominion can help by purchasing penny stamps, which can be attached to cards and utilised in the purchase of war certificates. The scheme has been submitted to Sir Joseph Ward for his'approval, and it is hoped the various school committees and headmasters will give an opportunity to speakers -to explain the scheme to the sc'iiool children, who will doubtless readily respord. This will give the children a clnnce of having the proud satisfaction of knowing in future years thai by doing their little bit they helped to win the war. For the older folks who are unable to take up large holdr ings ample opportunity will be afforded them to purchase war certificates in the streets by means of "the tank" which the travellers have secured for use in tne streets through the generosity of the Salvation Army authorities. Daily meetings of enthusiastic workers are being held in the luncheon hoir at the Travellers' Club, and already, it is stated, nnmevnus applications for allotments—both 7i?rge and small—are being dealt wiTli by the committees.
