WAIRARAPA NEWS
The egg-laying competition held at Waingawa by the Wairarapa Egg Circle has been won by Mr. T. L. Barnes's White Leghorn. Several cases of diphtheria are reported from Mauriceville district. About, £300 has been raised by special effort, in aid of the Masterton Municipal Silver Band. An old resident of Masterton, Mrs. Thomas Gardner, has died at the age of 87 years. Over four inches of raid, were registered in Masterton during the month of March. No bankruptcies were recorded in the Wairarapa last month. Tho bowling tournament held'in Masterton during Easter, in which fourteen teams competed, was won by Pragnell, of the. Masterton Club, with. Southgate (Park Club) runner-up.
