A WIN FOE THE VISITOItS. A visiting Nelson team (drawn- chiefly from the Urightwater district of. the province) played l'ctone, at the l'otone liocrcation Ground on Saturday. Tho wicket was very wet' at the start, but dried as the game progressed. Nelson batted llrst and scorcd 'I'll, tho Drat wicket falling ot 54 and- the third nt 116.. Neale's innings included a 6 and six 4'u. The scoring waa a little slow, owing to tho ball hanging .a good deal during tho greater. part of tho innings. P.Btono's innings started badly, five wickets being down for 22, and although tho remainder did a little better the total reached only 71, leaving the visitors rany winners by 156 runs on the first innings.. The l'ctone ladies provided afternoon tea in tho Technical Uchool, and this always welcome break was the more appreciated, on account of tho cold, sunlcßß weather.
