The minority Socialists have accordingly established a Workmen's Conference, which seeks to replace the Soviets. SUPREME COUNCIL CONSTITUTED IN DEFENCE OF THE COUNTRY. (Rec. ALLIED EMBASSIES RETURN NECESSARY FOR ALLIES TO DEFEND THEIR INTERESTS. Petrograd, March 29. The Allied Embassies have returned to Russia from Finland. They have issued a statement affirming the necessity for .the Allies to defend their interests, which are seriously compromised by the separate peace, and announce that they will take up their residence at Vologda, because there is no central authority in Petrograd, and for other- reasons. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SIBERIAN GOVERNMENT FORMED TO CONTINUE THE ORIGINAL REVOLUTION. (Rec. March 31, 5.5 p.m.) Shanghai, March 30. The "North China Daily News" correspondent at Harbin states that it has been decided to form a Provisional Siberian Government to continue the original Revolution and suppress the Red Guards. It is expected the new Government will ask the friendly Powers for assistance, and commence military operations without delay.—Reuter.

THE UKRAINE FRONTIERS GERMANY NOT KEEPING THE TREATY TERMS. Moscow, March 29. The Council of Commissaries has nsked Germany, to state definitely how wide she intends to define the frontiers of Ukraine, as they are already beyond those fixed in tho peace treaty. The German Foreign Office professes to have no knowledge of the recapture of Odessa by tho Soviets. The German newspapers report that the Black Sea between Odessa and Constanza has been cleared of mines, aud that three German steamers arrived , at Odessa from Turkey on Tuesday.—Aus.-N.Z. It is reported that the Soviet Cossacks have arrested General Alexieff in the Don region.—Reuter, i FINNISH RED "GUARDS DEFEATED (Ree. March 31, G. 5 p.m.) Petrograd, March 30. The Finnish Red Guards have been defeated at Tammerfors, losing in tho retreat 10,000 prisoners aud 21 guns.— Reuter.
