Sir,— Everywhere throughout the, country we have been giving both time and money to help our niea who. are lighting for us. A great crisis is. now at hand, two huge armies. areopposing one another in wbat may be the determining battle, and are we going lo look helplessly on whi'e we have so great a power in our hands which hitherto we have not used as we should? Now is the time as never before when we need to call upon Ood Almighty for his help.' Each year wo have thought victory almost -within I our grasp, but always some totally unforeseen obstacle has arisen to retard and hinder. And why? Because wo have not yet learned one lesson ot humble dependence on, and submission to our Heavenly Father, but have trusted to out own efforts, which haveproved so futile an undertaking without His help and blessing May I suggest? The churches aic always open, and there are few who could not spare five minutes once, twico and even thrice daily, to enter and; kneel in prayor. for those who are m tho thick of the fight, and for vie pry for the rieht. It would be grand to see in our town a constant stream of people coming and going, keeping up one continuous prayei" for onr splendid men who aio facing such awful horrors : that we may be spared them. . .
