DEER SHOOTING SEASON

The red deer shooting season for 1918 in the Wellington acclimatisation district will open on March 29 and close !on May 31. The license fee. for the Wairarapa South and Feathorston reserves is £2, and the holder of a license is entitled to take four stags and six hinds. Licenses can be obtained at post offices at "Wellington, Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Martinborough,, and Featherston. For the area containing Hutt and Feathorston Counties' (Wainui), Horowhenua, and Hutt Counties (Paraparaumu), Akitio, Tararua Forest Reserve, and Taihape, the license fee is £2, and the licensee may take two stags, and may also take two hinds within a '>pecially-defincd_ area at Wainui, which area is denned in the advertisement- appearing elsewhere and endorsed on the license. Licenses may be obtained at post offices at Wellington, Masterton, Carterton, Featherston, Greytown, Eketahmia, Pahiatua, Makuri, Pongaroa, Palmcreton North, Paraparaumu, Otaki, Taihape, Maugaweka, Lower Hutt, and Shannon. Dei tails of areas excluded from the district over which the license is valid and of the special area at Wainui within which two hinds may be taken may. he obtained at the cffice'of the secretary, 205 Lambton Quay, Wellington.
