MIRAMAR BOROUGH
TRAM TIME-TABLE CHANGES. Only four members of the. Miramar Borough Council were present at the meeting of the council held last night, and the Mayor (Mr. F. Townsend) spoke of the responsibility that falls on the. shoulders of the-fow •at badlyattonded meetings, which have been so frequent lately that there has been a difficulty in getting a quorum. The councillors present were:. Councillors Tracy, Robertsjiuw, and Green. On the motion of Councillor Green, it was agreed that the resolution passed by the council at a meeting held on September 20, 11)17, relative to stormwater in Hay Street, be rescinded, and the question be opened again for discussion. The street is to bo inspected by the council. The tramways traffic manager wrote, advising changes to be made in tho running of Scatoun cars only, owing to congestion of traffic in' Kilbimie tunnel. In future, ears are to run via Constable Street, the slightly longer time (two minutes and a naif) taken for the trip by this route will (it was stated) ensuro no delays, as are met with at the tunnel. _ The starting time from both termini will remain as at present, excepting that after 8.66 a.m. cars will leave Seatoun fivo minutes later, at 9.1 a.m. and 9.41 a.m.. ete., as on Saturday. It was decided to leave the matter over till next meeting, the Mayor remarking that some peoplo would, not like the change, but a borough council could not dictate to a city council.
