Dalgety and Company, Limited, Palmerston Korth, report having a fair yarding of sheep, and a sood entry of cattle at their Feilding sale on Friday, and practically, all lines changed hands at prices as below:—Sheep: Cull ewes, ss. to Bs. 4d.; empty store owes, Us. Bd. to 125.; empty ewes, 15s. 9d. to Us. Cattle: Small wcanor steers, £2 25.; twenty-month Bteers, £9; store cows, £5 10b. to £6 75.; empty cows, £8 to £8 Io9.; small bulls, £5; threerear steers, £12 15b.; light Eat bullocks, £16; fat cows, £11 4s. 6d. to £11 10s. Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd,, report:—At Palmerslon North, on Thursday wo had a small yarding of both sheep and cattle, and owing to weather and other causes the market was not very animated. We quoto;—Two and Bix-tooth wethers, 335. 3d.; four-tooth,"six-tooth, and four-year ewes, 81s.; fat lambs, i9s. 6d.; fat two-tooths, 255.; springing heifers, £11; fat heifers, £8 Ids.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Feilding, on Friday, there was a rather smaller yarding than usual. Pricee for sheep were slightly. , easier, while cattle were in fairly good demand. We had a good clearance at the following pricos.—Ordinary fat cows. £11 Us. to £12; store cows, £6 2s. 6d. to £i 10s.: two and a half-year springing heifere, £8 15s. to £9 55.; fat heifers, £9 55.; two and a hair to three-year steers, £11 13s. 6d.; two to two and a half-year steers, £10 25.; light bulls,'£7 to £12 10s.; mixed weaners, £2 Bs. to £3 7s. 6d.; four-tooth wethers, 28s. 6d. to 319.; small two and four-tooth wethers, 265. 2d.; small two-tooth wethers, 22b. to 235. 7d.; four-year ewes, Ws. 9d. to 20s. 6d.; aged ewes, 16s. to'l7e. Bd.; forward lambs, Ks. to 175.,- shorn lambs, 10s. sd. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Pahautanui, ou Friday, only small yardings came forward. Bidding was inclined to drag somewhat, but we managed to quit inoet lines eventually, although at somewhat"" easy prices. A bullook, donated by Messrs. Pearce Bros., was oold on behalf of the recent 'bush fires 'disaster fund, and realised altogether the good amount of £138 15a. Quotations :- Sheep: Four-yoar ewes, 245. 61; store ewce, 14b. 6d., l£s.; cull ewes. 65.; small lambs, Us. to Ss. Id.; cull lambs 2s. «d. Cattle: Heifers, £3; two ond a half-year steers, £11 ss. 6d.
Meisre. Wright, Stepheneon, and Co., Ltd., report having offered a 6ood yarding of eheep and cattle at their Carterton Bale on Friday. Aβ has generally been tht case of late, aged and inferior ewes were hard to quit, but good stuff met with a ready sale. They quote:—Two-tooth wethers, to 275. 9d., - forward ewes, to 235. 6d.; woolly lambs, 14s. Id. to 15s. 6d.; b.f. lambs. 16s. 2d.; email lambs, 9s. Bd. to 10s. <(&.; S.D; rams, 365.; yearling heifers, £3: two-year heifers, £5 Iβ. to £6 12s; two and a half-year steers, £6 10s. to £9 5e.; store cows, to £6. The operating firms also offered a large number of sheep and cattle of first-class quality, given hy neighbouring farmers, to bo sold for the benefit of the Salvation 'Army's war worir. Prices realised included:-Two and four-tooth stud S.D. ewes, •OJgns.; fat lambe. 335. 6d.. £2 10s., to £3 35.; fat eweß, to 335.;-forward lambs, to os. 6d.; fat cows, to £1115s. The TVairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., stock department,, report 'on their Carterton salo as follows:—A full yarding of sheep, cattle, end pige came forward, and was submitted to a large attendance. Business at auction was Keen, and we succeeded in disposing of the -whole yarding, with the exception of one or two small lines. About 150 sheep and 30 head of cattle, pigs, and sundries were sold In aid of the Salvation Army's War l*unfl, and realised very satisfactory prices. Quotations: Sheep—Fat and forwara ewee, 275. The' New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report havintr condncted their fortnightly sale at Upper Hutt on Thursday, and offered a large yarding of both sheep and cattle to, a fair attendance, and sold practically the whole of thoir yarding at satisfactory prices. They quote-.—Four, 'six, and r.f.m. ewes, 315.; mixed-ago owes, 20s. 5d.; low condition mixed-age cwee, 16s. 3d. to 18s. 3d.; fat and forward ewes, 26b. 1029e. Id.; fat and forward wethers, 265. to 30s. Id.; two-tooth ■wethers, 245. 3d.; cull two-tooth wethers, Zl8.; m.s. shorn email lambs, Ss.; fat lambs. 18s 3d ■ fat bullocks. £16 16a.; forward cows, £8 12s. to £9 10s.; store cows, £6 2s. to £8 7s. 6d.; eighteen-month heifers, £6 to £6 145.: upring-calving cows, to £9; two and a. half-year steers, £10 10s.; eighteenmonth steers, to £8 65.; m.B. weanere, £2 165.; bulls, to £10 12s. At their monthly sale at Pahautanui they offered a fair yarding of both eheep and cattle, the bulk of the yarding consisted of mixedage ewes which were dull of sale, but forward i-nndttion s'oclt sold at market prices.
