THE FIRE IN WAIHI MINE
OPERATIONS TO BE RESUMED TO-DAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Waini, March 23. The fire at No. 9 (plan) level, Waihi mine, is now a negligible quantity. The smoke, which has practically penetrated Wo whole of the workings of the mine is, excepting in the immediate vicinity of the small area affected, quite clear. The superintendent states that mining operations underground will be resumed on Monday.
