DEER SHOOTING SEASON

The red deer shooting season for 1918 in the "Wellington acclimatisation district will open on March 29 and close on Saturday, May 31, 1918. Tho license fee for the Wairarapa South and Feathorston reserves is £2; and the holder of a license is entitled to take four stags and six hinds. Licenses can be obtained at post offices at Wellington, Mastertou, Carterton, Greytown, Martinborougli, and' Featherston. For the area containing Hutt and Featherston Counties (Wainui) Horowbenua and Hutt Counties (Paraparaumu), Akitio, Tararua Forest Reserve, and Taihape, tho license fee is ±!2, and the licensee may take two stags and may also tako tiro hinds within a speciallydefined area at Wainui, and which area is defined on the advertisement appearing elsewhere and endorsed on the license. Licenses may be obtained at post offices at Wellington, Masferton, Carterton, Featherston, Greytown, Eketahuna, Pahiatua, Makuri, Pongaroa, Palmerston North, Paraparaumu, Otaki, Taihape, Mangaweka, Lower Hutt, and Shannon. D.etails of areas excluded from the district over which the license is valid and of the special area at Wainui within which two ninds may be taken may be obtained at the office of the secretary, 205, Lambton Quay, Wellington. The Tauheremkau district is closed to' stalking.
