WELLINGTON V. OTAKI.
Oil Wednesday a team from the city journeyed to O.taki and played a match .with a local twenty-two. Tuckwell captained. the visitors aud had the distinction of making top score. Burton also played well for 51, and six of tho others ran into double figures. For Otaki Claridgo showed good form for 43, while Do Latour, Spiers- and Maliirna also did well. In tho bowling, F. W. Christian and C. J. Spiers did best for the local inen, while Barker and Fenton tbok most wickets for tho city team. Tho visitors were hospitably entertained at luncheon and afternoon tea, and thoroughly enjoyed the day's outing. There aro hopes that the fixture will bo made an annual one.
