A report has been in circulation in various quarters that changes are pending at Defence Headquarters. ■ It lias .boon stated that the present Commandant of the Forces (Major-General Sir Alfred Robin) would go to England in some capacity, and would be replaced at-the head of the Forces m New Zealand, by an officer who would he brought hack from the war area. Certain other changes in the Staff havo also been foreshadowed. . • The Minister of Defence (Sir James Allen) stated last night that these re-: ports were "idle rumour." Ho had i no information at all to give in confirmation of them.
