W.C.T.U. CONVENTION

Convention'to-day resolutions of protest were carried against Miss Ettio Ex>ut'B proposal; I against the inadequate sentenco of eleven montlis' imprisonment imposed oil a Dunedin man for enticing girls to his disorderly house, against tho importation of whisky, the manufacture of which was tho means of destruction of grain so much needed at Home, and which occupied shipping space otherwise needed, ami against tho display of liquor advertisements at railway stations. It was resolved that a letter be sent to Mr. Lloyd George asking for the abolition of wet canteens in camps where New Zealand soldiers aro trained. Miss. AVaymonth was appointed travelling secretary to collect funds for the coining campaign, plans for which were discussed.
