HIGH COMMISSIONER'S MARKET REPORT
Ths Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London, March 16, 1918, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. . Meat.—Available quantity not-large, but on account of rations present supplies meet requirements. Supplies consist chiefly of New Zealand lamb, Canadian beef, and English calves, all s-t maximum prices. English mutton and beef, small supply. ' Butter and Cheeese.—No change Binco last report; small supply selling at maximum prices. Hemp.—Manila hemp, superior grade, is in demand, early delivery. Stocks at February 28 were 31,998 bales against 33,329 bales at February 28 last year. New Zealand, ajready shipped, continues in active demand. Practically nothing doing for shipment. AVheat and Oats.—Market very quiet owing to the absence of offers for account of Government. Official quotations have not changed.
