ARBITRATION COURT REFUSED TO MAKE IT BINDING. By Teleernult—Press Association. Christchurch, March 18. Before the Arbitration Court to-day, application was made on behalf of the Canterbury Tanners and Fellmongers' Union to have a voluntary increase m wages made binding. The secretary of the uuion stated that at a conference of employers a certain increase was agreed to, and the union wished to include it in the award. The President of the Court (Mr. Justice Stringer), in refusing tne application, said the Court had no power to make the order. The increase was purely voluntary, and the employees should respect the employers, and take what they had dona in good faith.' . .
