Convention, based on the figures of the Minister of Health (2071 illegitimate births in five years), demanded, the raising of the age of consent to 21- years, the extension cf the time limit for laying a criminal information, and the abolition of the plea of. belief that the girl was of the age of consent as a palliation of an offence. At a temperance rally • on Sunday evening 52 new members were enrolled.
