I. Bruntoii waited iinon the council witli respect to the nuisance of wandering stock, which was becoming worse instead of better. About a hundred cows o-razed about the borough, and the deputation ureed that the cattle should be grazed on fenced land. There was one cow, it was alleged by one of +he speakers, quite an adept at opening gates and getting into gardens. Tho Mayor, replying to tlio deputation, .said there was a reason for allowing the cattle to graze, and that was to keep down the growth of grass, which if not checked - became a nuisance and a danger. Tho council had done something to stop the nuisance, and had been successful to some extent, but unfortunately had not eradicated the nuisance. However, Miramar had made such progress recently that he believed that the time had arrived when it would bo necessary to prohibit cattlo wandering in tho borough, and the matter would be brought before the council. Tho deputation had strengthened the hands of tho council in the matte , .
It resolved, after some discussion, that owners of stock grazing in the borough bo wen a month's notice warning them that tho by-iaw reforriiij!; to wandering stock would be strictly enforced.
