The <lrama is breathless with cxciteinent from first to last. The foui-th instalment of "The Neglocted Wife is 6hown, also a film of tho Gala Day Sports at Island Bay. "THE AUCTION BLOCK." Rex Beach's masterpiece, "The Auction Block." will be screened at the Kings Theatre on Saturday next. The film is tho first release in New Zealand, of the Goldwyn Company's productions,' a.jd all- followers of filmland nows will know of this great company's reputation. Nearly two years elapsed before a production which reached the standard set by the promoters of the new movement in screen art was put before the public, and "The Auction Block" is confidently stated to be a genuine surprise. Mr. Bernard Page, j gave his weekly organ i coital in the Town : Hall last night. His opening number was i tiie Concerto in D Minor (Handel), written : originally for organ and orchestra, and | arranged for the organ alone by the late : M. A. Guilmant. This js an impressive I and harmonious composition, with many characteristic passages. " Modern French i music was represented by two bracketed : numbers, the prelude from "La Damoiselle I Elue" and the prelude from "L'Enfant Frodigue" (Dibussy). Thcsp interesting works, .animated' by a deep sense of beauty, are worthy of study, and they were treated by Mr. Page with great sympathy. A Melodic by Hachmaniuod was one of the Russian composer's "Morceaux de Pantasie," written originally for the piano. Tho concluding number in the first part of the programme was the "f/Cgend" Op. 16 (Harvey Grace). The second part consisted of the Russian composer 'Moussorgsky's "A Tear" and "Meditation," two studies for the piano, and the "Suite Ancicnne" (nollowny), vhich is always interesting as typical of the earlier style of organ mnsie.
