ARTILLERY SCHOOL
■AT MORRISON'S .BUSH.
The first artillery shoot to be held for some time was carried out at Morrison's Bush on Friday, the guns used being an 18-pounder and a 4.5 howitzer. The practice was witnessed by the Chief of Staff, Colonel C. M. Gibbon, CM.6., 1.G.5., Colonel N. P. 'Adams, C.M.G., Camp Commandant, Colonel C. R. Maodona&Jj 1.G.5., Chief Infantry-Instructor, and other camp officers. ' .
Lieutenant-Colonel Roberts, Director of Artillery, superintended the shooting, which was carried out under the direction of Captain Bradley, Chief Artillery Instructor. The first series, fired by Lieutenant Swarbrick, was at ft trench over a 4000-yards range, with satisfactory results, m the opinion of the exports. Tho second series was fired by Lieutenant Hutchison, also at a trench, the range being.3 800 yards. Tho result was favourably commented en. In the third series tho target was in the open, and tho results were also good. The fourth scries was fired by n.c.o. classes, and was an instructional praotice. Ninety per cent, of the shots were within the zone, at a range of 3800 yards.
