Each of the men, who are conscientious objectors, pleaded guilty and offered no evidence. Roberts, in a statement, said that as a humanitarian he believed that human life was sacred, and that killing *a B murder, notwithstanding that it was by order of the State, and under the blessing of the Church. He wished to point out to the Government that it wan futile to keep on sending conscientious objectors to kaol because for every one imprisoned three more would Bering up. In the.case of Kennaway Henderson evidence was given that he was not an anti-mihtoist in the ordmary sense. His antwmhtanst views we based primarily on an ethical foundation.
