, . 4 . QUESTION OF RELIEF. After some little discussion on the subject of the treatment qf dependants of deserters the Advisory Board of the War Relief Association resolved yesterday: "That the board is of opinionthat as h general principle no relief i should be granted to the dependants of deserters or soldiers undergoing imprisonment for a civil or military crime,, subject to the right'of the patriotic societies to give- relief Bhould special circumstances require, and that the societies be requested to accept this resolution as a recommendation from the board." •
