GOVERNMENT SHOULD PAY
SWIMMING BATH FOR SOLDIERS. Recently the adjutant at Featherston Camp wrote as follows to the Mayor of Auckland:— "As you are aware tho Featherston Camp has been built and added to until nearly every want the soldier has, has been supplied. There ie one thing, however, that is badly needed, and that ie a swimming bath for tho men. It in proposed that a swimming bath 50 x 100 ft. be immediately taken in hand, so that the men can have the advantage of it during the present hot season. The cost complete will be about £350, and any assistance that Auckland can render would be highly appreciated." The matter was referred to the Advisory Board of the Patriotic Societies yesterday, and it expressed the opinion that the Government should provide the money. ■ . ,
