' Inveroargitl, March 6. At the Supreme Court to-day Herbert Alexander -Mac Donald, a wellknown solicitor j was charged:—w That on May 12, 1905, with intent to defraud and in violation of lus trust he converted to uses not authorised ■C 1042; (2) that between March 1915, and March- 8, 1917, having received £114 15s. 2d. on terms reqmrine him to account for and replace tlio same to Samuel Miller, he did fraudulently omit to account for or pay WW Bs. 2d.; and (3) that on Soptember 20, 1915, having received £153 15s. on terms requiring him toa c a> u ntforand repay the same to Thomas Kennedy he fraudulently omitted to Moonnt for or pay £136 7s. to Thos. Kennedy. Accused conducted his own defence Addressing the Court he said! thrt ' tha moneys wero received by the nrm oi Mac Donald and Tipping (tbo latter was now at the front Mr. Tipping, aa partner, was equally responsible. H denied intent to defraud on the part of the firm. The moneys were still m reality. He thought it hardly fair to iX him in.
