In .connection wit?, tho grant, of £50 which lias been received by the Women's National Reserve from the Macarthy Trust, it was pointed out by Dr. I'latts-Mills at last night's meeting in the Town Hall that this grant was given ill connection witli tho Wives' Club, and was for purely educational purposes. It was to be controlled entirely by the committee of the club (which included well-known men of this city), and was not to be used in connection with the ordinary work of tho reserve. In referring to this grant later on in the evening, tho Hon. G. W. Russell suggested that a special committee be appointed to consult with the Hon. J. Hanan, Minister of Education, or some other eduauthority, afl to the best methods of utilising the money. At. last night's meeting of the Women's National Reserve apologies for unavoidable absence were received from the Hon. J. Hanan and, Jirs. Hanan, and tho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke, 0.M.G.) and Mrs. Luke.
