CRICKET

EASTER TOURS ARRANGED. The committee of the Wellington Cricket Association met last night. There were present Messrs. C. G. j Wilson (in the chair), M. J. Crombie, I D. M'Kenzie, V. B. Willis, J. D. Hov/itt, E. H. Ward, and W. 1. Baker. The secretary of the Manawatu Cricket Association wrote offering to put on a match at Palmerston North with a third grade team from Wellington on Easter Saturday. Messrs." Howitt, W. F. Foster, and F. Rxjss were appointed a Selection Committee with power to act. - Application was mado by tho secretary of'the Otald Cricket Club for a match at Otaki with a strong Wellington eleven on March 20. It was left to the Selection Committee to get a team together. An invitation was received from tho Hawke's Bay Association to send a second eleven to Hastings at Easter to play a representative match on the Saturday and Monday. Mr. Crombie reported that the Selection Committee already had the matter in hand, and the prospects of sending a team to Hastings were good. It was decided to accept the invitation. An application from the Wellington Schools' Cricket Association for a third wicliet prepared oil tho Basin Reserve for uso on Friday afternoons was left ,in tho hands of tho Grounds Committee, with power to act.
