METHODIST CONFERENCE
A LOYAL'ADDKESS. By Telegrauh.-Press Association. ■ Dynedin, March S. At the Methodist Conference, the Welfare of the Church Committee reported that tho number of full members was 22,963, an increase of 290, and of junior members 6411, an increase of 516. :
Conference adopted a- .loyal address reaffirming its conviction that His Majesty's Forces are engaged in a necessary crusade against a Power that ignores the eternal principles of right and wrong, and soeks by methods which are a dishonour to humanity to crush the liberties of others. ' Conference reaffirmed its confidence tlhat the Empire and her Allies will shortly triumph.. The Foreign Mission Committee recommended conference to reaffirm its decision to postpone tho allocation of a separate Held, for foreign mission work until after the war; that the appointment of the Ilov. Mir. Sinclair as organising si'orecary be postponed till 1919; that the Rev. Mr. Marshall be appointed foreign mission secretary at an honorarium of £75, and that for the ensuing year conforonige aim at raising £15,000 for foreign missions. Tho recommendations were agreed to. Further consideration is to be given to the roport at another session.
