RED TRIANGLE DAY

A meeting of citizens interested in the Red Triangle appeal which/is soon to he made was held last evening. The Hon. J. G. W. Aitken presided, and there were about thirty people present. It was decided to aim at raising £25,000.

The direct appeal as the best means of raising the money was strongly advocated.

■. The following officers were elected:— Secretary, Mr. J. W. Carr: minute secretary, Mr. E. ICellow: treasurer, Captain D. A. Ewen; chairman, Mr. H. Beauchamp; vice-chairmar, Mr. W. D. Stewart.

The following were elected a General Committee:—Hon. J. G. W. Aitken, Dr. A. K. Newman, M.P., Captain D. A. Ewen, Messrs. D AV. Duthie, W. D. Stewart, S. Clarke-Johnston, A. \V. Young, 0. A. Bendall, C. R. Smith, A. E. Pearce, G. • F. Johnston, L. Tripp, J. Macintosh, F. R. Meadowcroft, L. Blundell, \Y. A. Kennedy, Fisher. Alexander Gray, K.C., R. \V. Wnterhouse, John Mills, J. T. Barton, John Beveridge, F. W. Manton, C. M. Luke, J. B. Harcourt, C. P. Skerrett, K.C., C. C. Odlin, Thomas Ballinger, A. Pearce, ,T. AY. Kcrsley, F. Vossler, W. Cnllcnder,' \. L. Hunt, and .Leach. It was resolved that the General Committee should meet on -Monday to formulate the policy for Red Triangle Day and to appoint sub-committees.
