Mr. Uru states that politically he is an absolute Independent though at the present juncture he is in favour of the National Government. Ha holds the view, however, that all Maoris should be Independents, and no matter what the parties may be that they should look after their own interests at the 6ame time doing their best for the good of the country generally. In his younger days Mr. "Uru was a very prominont New Zealand athlete, and has represented Canterbury in both cricket and football.
