The Masterton Borough Council has decided to expend £50 in providing sand courts as playing-grounds for children in the public park. The gas manufactured at the Masterton Gasworks during the month of January showed an increase of 1-1.5 \ er cent, compared with the same month last year. There are at present 1729 gas consumers in Maslerton. Five soldiers were granted temporary relief by the Claims Board of the Wairarapa Patriotic Association on Monday. Elderberry, broom, and gorse have been added to the second schedule of the Noxious' Weeds Act by the Masterton Borough Council. , . Sixty-three house's have, up to tlio present, been connected with the new drainage system in Masterton. Mr. F. Ford has been appointed tloe tax collector by the Masterton Borough Council.
