MAN-POWER AND FOOD SUPPLY
STATEMENT IN BRITISH PARLIAMENT. (Rec. February 14, 10.10 p.m.) London, February 13. In the House of Commons Mr. Bonar Law stated that last year 820,000 men had been added to tho British Army, and 730,000 men and 800,000 ■women placed in employment. Cereals to the amount of SSO,OO'J tons, and 3,000,000 tons of potatoes had been added to our production. One million additional acres wero ploughed last year, and 1,200,000 moro acres had already been ploughed this year. The. wheat stocks in the United Kingdom for December exceeded those of the previous Docembor by two million quarters.—Renter.
