FUEL SAVING IN CANADA
DRASTIC STEP TO.COPE WITH SHORTAGE. (Rec. February 6, 11.45 p.m.) Ottawa, February 5. With the object of saving fuel the Government ■ has ordered manufacturers, including the munitions works, but excepting'thoso producing food, to close on three days next week, and-or-dered the theatres to closo every Monday until March 25. It is announced that tho Government has no intention, despite pressure, of rescinding its order prohibiting the importation of. liquors.—Renter.
