LIQUOR IN A RESTAURANT

In the Polioe Court to-day a man was charged with drinking liquor in a restaurant ai a time when licensed premises were required to be closed, and the wife of the manager was charged with' allowing the man to drink liquor in a restaurant. Counsel for defendant contewM that tho Legislature would not havo, intended to prevent a lodger in a restaurant from drinking liquor on the premises, but Mr. Young, S.M., entered a conviction, stating that in his opinion a lodger was not an occupier within the meaning of tho Sale of Liquor Restriction Act, 1917, and that was tbo question for determination in this case.
