THEIR LOST MANA IN THE PACIFIC
AGITATION FOR, RESTOR ATION OF GERMAN INTERESTS. , Amsterdam, February 4. The German Union of South Sea Firms has addressed a memorandum to the Reichstag, stating that if, at tlio making of peaco, tho Gorman Government consents to withdraw tho flag from tho Pacific Ocean, German world activity will bo irreparably restricted. Germany must possess her own stations and trade routes, to prevent her enemies' blockade from rotaining its effectiveness after the war. The possession of these will involve Germany's prestigo politically and economically and her industry, shipping, and trade. Tho union demands the retention or former spheres of activity on tho other side of the globe. These cannot bo abandoned without immeasurable injury to German national economics. — Aus.-N.Z.
