Mr. Bartholomew, S.M., <>avo judgment to-day in a case in ivhich a re-staurant-keeper was charged w-ih permitting liquor to bs drunk in Irs tostaurant at a time when licensed, premises were required to bo closed, Iho Magistrate, in entering a conviction, saicl tliis was new legislation and was very far-reaching in its consequents. Defendant acted bona tide and in the belief that he was within his lights. He was ordered to pay Court costs. A PROSECUTION KATLS. Rotorua, February 4.
