BURNSIDE STOCK SALE
By Telegraph-Press Association. Dunedin, January 30. At Barnsido to-day 181 cattle woro yarded—too many for buyers' requirements. Prices opened on a par with last week's rates, but gradually declined. At the_ end of the sale there was no competition, and several pens were passed unsold. Prime bullocks, £21, medium, £18 10s. to £20 10s.; lighter, £16 to £17 10s.; primo heifers, £15 17s. 6d.; medium, £13 10s. to £14 15s. ; light and. aged, £12 upwards. Sheep (1770 penned).—ln the absence of competition'from export buyers, the entrywas quite sufficient for requirements. The market-was stagnant and at times erratic. Prime wethers, 3Ss. 6d. to 41s. 9d.; medium, 345. 6(1. to 375. Od.; light and unfinished, 295. 9d. upwards; primo ewes, ,%s. to 38s. 3d.; medium, 31s. to 345.; light aud asred, 265. upwards. There was a small yarding of lambs and'tho prices were a little better than 1 last week. Extra prime, 335.; prime, 255. 6d. to 295.; medium, 235. to 245.; light, 225. 6d. A small yarding of pigs met keen competition at late rates.
