ALL ALIEN ENEMIES
PROPOSAL TO INTERN THEM. Notice has been given by Councillor R. A. Wright of his intenlion to movo as foilows at next, meeting of tliu City Council :— "That this council congratulates the Government upon its recent action in interning certain well-known aliens of enemy countries, and is also of opinion from facts daily coming to light of tho dangerous risks incurred (diie to enemy practices) by both tho civil and military sections of our communities, that all aliens of enemy countries, without any exception whatever, should be interned during tho period of the war, and that in order to obviate excessive expenditure in this regard, and to provide in some measure for their upkeep, the services of such aliens be utilised in some useful manner, which will return some value to tho State. That the foregoing be communicated to tho Right Hon. the Premier, and, further, that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to the Mayors of the principal cities of the Dominion, requesting their endorsement aud a communication thereof to the Prime Minister."
