LETTER-CARRIERS' PICNIC
The Wellington letter-carriers and their friends held their -annual picnic at Hutt Park Racecourse on Saturday, where they spent a most enjoyable day. A lengthy programme of sports was carried out. The results were: —Guessing competition, Miss J..E. Dawson; No. 1 married women's raco, Mrs. Thomas 1, Mrs. Chandler 2; variety race, Mr. Jupp 1, Mrs. Hatten 2: single women's race, Miss Stiles 1, Miss Condon 2; married men's raco, Mr. ■Richardson:lj Mr. Carr 2, Mr. Thomas 3; single men's race, Mr. Troy 1, Mr. Dobson 2, Mr. King, 3; No. .2 married women's race, Mrs. Austin 1, Mrs. Short 2; committeemen's race, Mr. Johnson 1, Mr. Hatten 2; baby show, Mrs. Campbell's 1, Mrs. -Albrecht's baby 2; carriers' championship (200 yds.), Mr. Troy 1, Mr. King 2; carriers' handicap, Mr. Livingstone 1 Mr. Carr 2; old men's race, Mr. Sullivan 1, Capt. Dawson 2; No. ried men's race, Mr. Waters 1, Mr. G. W. Bud man 2. Capt. Dawson presented the prizes.
