The Court was composed of Mr. F. O'B. Loughnan, S.M., and Captain Collins. After hearing evidence the Court found that (1) the Result was properly equipped and found for making the voyage; (2) the striking on the reef and subsequent wreck of the vesae! were not due to any act of negligence of incompetency of tho master (Thomas Reeves), but it was consiflercd that he committed an error of judgment in standing into the little baiy at the north end of Torrent Bay too close to the shore; and (3) after the vessel struck nothing could have been done by the master to nave her. Costs were allowed, to be paid by the Marine Department, and the master's certificate waß returned.
