UNIVERSITY SENATE

By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, January 25. The meeting.of this University, Senate was practically concluded to-day with the' final report of the Entrance Examination Committee, in which bursary, and scholarship inequalities-were referred as a whole to the ■Wellington Recess Committee. The proposed alterations ill matriculation, such as compulsory science, where a minimum number of subjects is taken, and Mr. Tibbs's amendment to permit candidates to tako physics and chemistry, were referred to the Secondary Schools Conference and the Board of Si/iidies. Tho amending statutes were rea<i a second time, and will bo formally passed to-morrow.
