BURNSIDE STOCK SALE
By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, January 22. At Eurnside market 159 fat cattle were yardec', consisting of a proportion- of prim;) bullocks and heifers. The sab opened on a par with last, week's raLse, but prices eased as the sale progressed. Prime bullocks made to £21 55., medium, to £16 10s.; prime heifers, to £15 17b. 6d. There was a good yarding of storo cattle, which sold at advanced rates. Very few dairv cowo were forward, and prices were h'rmti. There was a small yarding of calve::, which sold at late rates. A considerable portion of the yarding of fat sheep was of prime quality weth&i-s and ewes. The sale opened at about last week's rates, but ea32d as tbo sale progressed to tho extant of Is. 6d. to 2s. per head. Prices for fat lambs, at the beginning of the sale showed a rise of about 2s. per head o;i list week's rates, but towards the end lambs were almost unsaleable. There was ;-, moderate yarding of pigs. Prices fjr fat pigs showed a slight declino on last week's rates. There was a fair yarding of stores, and prices were on a par with late rates.
