HOME SCIENCE

Sir,—ln your issue of '23rd instant "Another Graduate" complains that I was "led away from hard facts when I stated that "I know soino brilliant graduates in home science whose homes are in a most chaotic condition." Ho contends that I am wrong here, becia«, as he alleges, there is only one i\ r 3\v Zealand home science graduate married—l.is wife—and, therefore, my, remarks cannot apply to her.

I am very pleased to inform "Another Graduate" that my statement was not meant to apply only to New Zealand; nor is his wife the only homo science graduate in the world who is marrud. New Zealand is not tho onlv place which produeen such graduates. Lam afraid "Another GriuluatoV knowledge of "hard facts" is very lim'ted in this matter. Then, again, he insinuates that all women without husbands have no homes of thoir own to look after. I can assure him, from my knowledge of "hard facts," thn this is by no means the case.

Iu making the statement to which your cerrespondent objects, 1 wished to show that a theoretical training in homo swrnce does not'of itself produce ago 3:1 home-maker. Anybody who camo miner my observation answering the description served as a useful illustratbn, whether sho hailed from New Zonlai'ci University or some other, whether sho was married or unmarried.—l am, etc., 'I*.
