BOWLING TOURNAMENT
THE SINGLES. CHAMPIONSHIP,
By Telegraph-Press Association. Dunsdin, January 22. At the Bowling Tournament, play in the Singles Championship was continued this morning in fine weather. The sixth round resulted: Harraway 21, M'Curdy 10; Tait 20, Smellie I' 6; Bentley 20, Houldsworth 17; Parsons 23, Ingram 16; Sharp 21, Johnson 9; Lanyan 18, M'Millan 12; Rawlinson 16, Hogg 14; Craig 18, Barnes 14; Henderson 25, Seddon 19; Leith 21, Buchanan 17. The seventh round resulted:—Walker 20, Fraser 11.; M'Curdy 18, Botting 12; Bentley 14, Harraway 11; Spiller 18, Smellie 12: Foster 18, Tait 13; Woolf 24, Houldsworth 19; Falconer 16, Leith 12; Rawlinson 21, Lanigan 19; Anderson 21, Craig 12; Sharp 20, Parsons 12.
The elimination process has reduced tho number of players to three—W. Foster (Caledonian), M. Walker (Ponsonby), and J. M'Curdy (St. Kildti), who will meet in tho finals to-morrow. Foster has not yet been beaten, and the other two have sustained only one loss each, Beritley (Otago), with only one defeat, was put out of the semifinals by Foster, the game being 24 to 11, and Walker got into the semifinals by beating Bentley (Dunedin) by 18 to 10.
