CHARGE AGAINST A LICENSEE DISMISSED.. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, January 22. In the Magistrate's Court Samuel Jennings Allen, licensee of tho Whit* Hart Hotel, was charged with permitting drunkenness on the premises. The man concerned was a lodger, and the case was dismissed, the Magistrate upholding the contention that an innkeeper does not permit drunkenness on his promises by allowing a lodger, who becomes drung after contracting for lodging, to remain on tho premises.
