HEATED DEBATE IN THE CHAMBER' VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN M; CLEMENCEAU mi nu , Paris ' January 20. Ine Chamber of Deputies passed a vote of confidence in M. Clemenceau, after one of the most heated debatos over heard in the Chamber. M. Deschanel was compelled to suspend the session in order to re-establish' calm. fhe trouble arose after a Socialist interpellation against the Royalist paper "l'Action Francaise." To this members of the Right delivered a coun-ter-attack. M. Pugliesseconti accused nineteen deputies of collaborating in a newspaper at Limoges, founded with German money, in which Dr. Liebknecht and Herr Bornstein were interested. He further accused M. Longuet, who is Karl Marx's grandson, of writing for a German-Swiss paper. Finally, the Chamber 368 votes to 118 adopted an Order of the Day stating that the Government should check all Royalist and other movements which attempt to create civil war, and expressing confidence in the Goverment to act. During the debate the Socialist Deputy Maveras struck M. Pugliesseconti, who subsequently sent his second to Mayeras. The latter declined to admit himself in the wrong, as Pugiesseconti had produced a revolver. M. Pugliesseconti then sent his second to M. Longuet.—-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. EX-MINISTER CITETFOR TREASON (Rec. January 21, 6.50 p.m.) Paris, January 20. M. Malvy (ex-Minister for the Interior) has been cited to appear in the High Court on Monday to answer'M. Daudet's charges of supplying the enemy with French military and diplomatic plans, and particularly with the plan for the Chemiu-des-Dames attack,, and also of encouraging the enemy by promoting and inciting mutiny.
