Dr. Morrison, Political Adviser to the Chinese Government, and formerly London "Times" correspondent m China, will be the guest of the New Zealand Club at a luncheon to be tendered him next week. At the University Senate yesterday morning Sir Robert Stout was re-elect-ed Chancellor, and Professor M'Millan Brown re-elected Vice-Chancellor. — Press Association. Mr. R. C. Teiinent, manager of the Bank of New South Wales at lnvcrcargill, is retiring next month. Mr. 'l'cnnent was a prominent footballer in the seventies and an active cricketer until a lew years ago, besides being in his early manhood a notable long distance runner. He has since.the war been a hard worker in patriotic movements in Invercargill, and of his lour sons one is a captain in South Africa, two others have done their bit in German West Africa, and subsequently as lieutenants in the Dominion forces, returning to New Zealand each with an •arm shattered, and the fourth is a sergeant with tho New Zealand Mounted Jlilies in Syria, having previously seen service on Gallipoli.

News has been received from Captain S. D. Rogers, M.C., of the Lower Hutt, who was rocently reported wounded, to the effect that ho was slightly gassed, and after a few dnys' rest is now again on duty.

Advice has been received flint ltiflcman R. G. Ban by, of Aorangi, Feeding, is now returning to New Zealand, and is expected to arrive early next month. Rifleman Ranby served for two jcars with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force on activo service, and was wounded first on the Somme and again at I'asschondaelc on October 12.
