THE KAUANGAROA MURDER
BEXNIER TO BE EXECUTED. liennier, the Kauangaroa murderer, is to be executed at AVellin«ton Gaol at 8 o'clock to-morrow morning. This man murdered his wife on September 10, and lie was found guilty of the crime of murder and sentenced to death on November 28. Doubts were raised by counsel for the prisoner as to his sanity, and inquiries were made. The reports from the medical men who had been instructed to keep the man under observation were _ before t-lid Executive Council ii] meeting in Christchurch yesterday, and the decision of the Executive was that the sentence should stand.
