MASTERTON NOTES

(From Our Own Correspondent.) It is expected that the installation of the automatic telephone system in Masterton will be completed in the course of a few months. The Masterton Co-operative Dairy Company has voted £5 to the fund for the relief of distressed sailors. It iina also donated a hox of butter towards the surprise packet crusade. At the meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association on Saturday a circular letter was read from Dr. \V. J. Anderson, Director of Education, in reference to the Kitchener Memorial Scholarship. Mr. W. Porry expressed the opinion that the scheme was i-ot sufficiently comprehensive. After some discussion the circular was received. The Masterton Co-operative Dairy Company has decided to pay out. Is. 5(1. per lb. for butter-fat supplies ;e----ceived during tbo month of January.
